Artistar Jewels brings in Milan the contemporary projects of the most interesting international designers
Artistar fourth edition officially opened the doors last Friday, during the Milan Fashion Week, in the prestigious Giureconsulti Palace –Milan, introducing 400 creations, mostly never seen before, made by 142 international designers from over 30 different countries. They were unique pieces or small series, selected for the high artistic value, for the technical features and the stylistic research: evocative body ornaments, very different for the materials and the techniques but linked by the fil rouge of the narration of a story, always present in each creation.
Creativity and materials played a big role, proving that contemporary jewelry can be a real work of art, featuring great quality and various materials: from precious metals to hard stones all the way to alternative materials that come from the recycling of everyday objects, such as Neoprene, vegetable tanned calf leather, nylon mixed and then paper, resin, plastic, nylon.
During the event, they were nominated the three winners, selected by a special jury made of new personalities: Elisabetta Barracchia – Editor of Vogue Accessory and Creative Director of the Fashion Department of Vanity Fair – , Mariastella Campi – fashion journalist – , Bianca Cappello – historian and critic of jewelry –, Gianni De Liguoro – founder and stylist of the De Liguoro brand and also protagonist of a special exhibition in a special area – , Guido Solari – founder and owner of the Scuola orafa Ambrosiana of Milan via Savona, 20 –, and the blogger Liza Urla, founder of Gemologue.
