Baselworld’s top management displays confidence despite loss of 200 brands
“We decided to turn away exhibitors this year. It’s our choice. It’s our choice”. With this words, managing director of Baselworld, Sylvie Ritter, replied to the press’ unrelenting questions about the loss of 200 brands recorded by the trade show in this 2017 edition. Ritter said the show – that is now celebrating its 100th anniversary – chose to focus on quality over quantity. Still, some doubts remain, since the decrease of exhibitors, due to the rise in prices, has been strong and steady over the past years. The show opened on Thursday and will be running until March 30.
