The Goldsmiths’ Company celebrates five decades of De Vroomen, a company synonymous with glamour, sophistication and craftsmanship
The bold use of enamel, the colorful bangles and lots of ear clips, necklaces and rings with timeless design and sensual shapes. These are the main features of De Vroomen‘ style born from the artistic collaboration between renowned husband and wife team, Dutch goldsmith Leo de Vroomen and British jewelry designer and artist Ginnie de Vroomen.
The couple started working together in the early 70s, developing a signature style of jewelry unlike anything seen before.
Today, after five decades, The Goldsmiths’ Company celebrates their work presenting ‘De Vroomen: Harmony in Colour and Form’, a showcase which brings together over 100 pieces of De Vroomen jewels, sketches reflecting the creative process, as well as Ginnie’s vivid paintings inspired by nature and the urban landscape: bold, sophisticated jewelry with flowing lines is placed in conversation with polychromatic abstract art to tell a long story of love, passion and artistic skills which still today continues to create iconic jewelry known for its glamour, sophistication and craftsmanship, not only capturing the symbiotic relationship between form and color but also reflecting the wearer’s sense of individuality.
Venue: Goldsmiths’ Hall Dates: 12 April – 26 July 2017
