From chilhood memories to luxury experience
Who has no memories related to his first box of colored pencils? It seems that among the indelible flashbacks of childhood there is precisely this, images that in many cases are branded Faber-Castell. And for generations, eight in all, if we consider that distant 1761 when the company was founded in Stein, near Nuremberg, Germany. To date, Faber-Castell is one of the oldest companies in the world, with the plus of being still owned by a single family, despite becoming a real multinational giant: nine production sites in the world, 120 i Countries where its products are distributed, and an annual production of over two billion wood pencils. Wood largely coming from plantations owned in South America, object since the eighties of a project of reforestation decidedly avant-garde for that era. But wood, and especially pencils, to write or draw, are not the only object of desire Made in Germany for fans of 'beautiful writing': since 2003, the Faber-Castell is also known for The Pen of the Year, limited edition in the stylus or sphere version, which for the 2018 edition is inspired by the glory and beauty of Ancient Rome. Imperium Romanum is precisely the name of the two pens - one in white Carrara marble with platinum metal parts and a black one in Nero Marquina marble with anthracite titanium parts: the two versions have decorative elements engraved on the metal elements reminiscent of the arches of the Colosseum, laurel crowns and, on the cap, a Roman coin. The fountain pen in the platinum-plated version has the 18-carat bicolour gold nib and is limited to 400 pieces, while there are only 120 pieces of the roller pen. The Black Edition is available in a limited edition of 330 fountain pens and 100 roller pens. Both specimens are individually numbered and are presented in an elegant box of glossy black wood, accompanied by a certificate signed by Count Charles von Faber-Castell that certifies the exclusive limited edition.
