When the mirror becomes the personal shopper

When the mirror becomes the personal shopper

The designer Rebecca Minkoff inaugurates a new way to shop.

[su_highlight background="#042653" color="#ffffff"]RETAIL[/su_highlight] The classic ritual of female shopping usually requires at least one other person in order to obtain a second opinion when it comes to choosing a dress, an accessory or the perfect match of the two.

However, the Rebecca Minkoff boutique in Soho, New York,  has now made this necessity obsolete given that the function of the ‘adviser’ is carried out by special futuristic mirrors mounted in the dressing room.

Thanks to high-tech wiring, these high definition touchscreen mirrors can indeed offer real-time combinations of accessories and jewelry, suggesting colors and designs which  optimally match the customer's outfit and, thanks to software developed by eBay, specifies whether the selected item is in stock. Moreover, thanks to these miraculous devices, it is possible to buy the item at a touch and remodel the lights and atmosphere inside the dressing room. At this point,  personal shoppers from around the world may start feeling threatened, but as they say... "beauty is technology!"
