To mark the 89th Pitti Bimbo children’s fashion trade show, Chopard Italia and the Andrea Bocelli Foundation will be opening the photographic exhibition “MUCCIA: THE NEW SCHOOL OF TOMORROW - EMPOWERING PEOPLE AND COMMUNITIES” on 20th June at Fortezza da Basso. A collection of images that tell the story of how the “E. De Amicis” primary and infant school was rebuilt in Muccia, one of the small towns in the Marche region that was struck by an earthquake in 2016. To announce the initiative with the widest international visibility, the ABF and Chopard chose the city of Florence where both their Italian head offices are located. The symbolic jewel of this “partnership of the heart” is a bangle from the Happy Hearts Collection. A bracelet in certified ethic gold and green agate.

Muccia’s “school of the future”, thus called since it was one of the first to be completed following precise eco-sustainability and environmentally friendly criteria, will be inaugurated in the town on 26th June. Chopard Italia supported the project with a donation and therefore contributing to the building of the new school. The Maison paid particular attention to the construction of the Art, Science and Sustainability classroom that will be used for all the new didactic workshops. Eco Age also supported the project by producing, together with Chopard and under the supervision of a team of child educators within the ABF team, a handbook of contents which will enrich education using paperless teaching tools, among other things. The new “De Amicis” school was also built using wooden “Platform Frame” technology, guaranteeing the highest level of earthquake resistance available and certifying the school as construction class IV for buildings “with important public or strategic functions, also in reference to civil protection management in the case of disaster.”
