Jewels in Metamorphosis
In Gorizia, Jewelry Metamorphosis exhibition displays a selection of jewelry dedicated to scrap material
Art jewelry is attracting more and more attention, because of the great interest of contemporary artists. Thanks to their bold creativity, jewels are becoming ornamentals which we can appreciate in the same way that a painting or a sculpture. In Gorizia (Italy), the exhibition ‘La metamorfosi del gioiello’ (Jewelry Metamorphosis) enhances the jewelry art displaying a selection of jewels dedicated to waste material. The value of the art works is not tied to the preciousness of the material, but to the transformation, since every used object is part of everyday life. ‘Poor’ and natural materials, such as the bark of a tree, become the new precious materials.
The exhibition will remain open until April 25, 2018. The project stems from an idea of the goldsmith Sergio Figar, promoted and created by: Confartigianato Imprese Gorizia, Zona Franca Gorizia Special Chamber of Commerce Venezia Giulia and Fondazione Carigo and the contemporary association Gioiellodentro. Sponsored by Ador Goldsmith Designer Association. In collaboration with Cata Artigianato FVG, Antracite Gioielli, TV Koper Capodistria, Grafic F.R. Rossini Gallery.
