Piaget and Rankin on Exhibit in Milan

The Maison Piaget renews its link with the world of Art as a cultural partner of the Rankin - from Portraiture to Fashion exhibition. In Milan, at the 29 Arts in Progress gallery, from 18 October to 24 February 2020


After three years from the presentation of Outside In during the 2016 Milan Fashion Week, the Rankin: From Portraiture to Fashion show will be back in Milan at the 29 Arts in Progress Gallery. A real tour in the archive of the British photographer, for the first time in Italy with a personal in continuous transformation. Objective: to give visibility not only to his most iconic works, but also to the most conceptual works, thus presenting the artist's contemporaneity to a new generation of collectors. The project foresees changes of works and installations in order to celebrate some of the typical Milanese events such as the Vogue Photo Festival, the Fashion Film Festival (both in November) and the Milan Fashion Week in February. The exhibition was preceded by a live shooting with the rare Polaroid Land Camera 20x24 inch: "Being a Polaroid you only have that possibility, that pose, that shot, and the prints are real works of art", says Rankin presenting this incredible initiative. «My favorite photo shoots are those that involve ordinary people. I want to get in touch with people, I like authentic people who do not act for some kind of notoriety ». Cultural partner of the photographic project, the historic Piaget maison which confirms its commitment to the remodeling of the border between art and design. The maison's link with art is inherent in its activities and throughout its history has played a fundamental role in the process creative. Piaget has always supported the creativity and expertise of its designers and its master craftsmen, but it is also very sensitive to the talent present in other areas by building relationships with leading figures in the art world. The exhibition will be in Milan until February 24th 2020.
