Rise of a new icon: the Girard-Perregaux Laureato Skeleton

Rise of a new icon: the Girard-Perregaux Laureato Skeleton

An intense, solid yet supple exterior. A graceful and sensual, yet structurally rigid interior. Luminous on the outside and dark inside. The new watch by the Swiss Manufacturer is a perfect combination of architectural and emotional qualities.

A luxury sport timepiece with an amazing, skeletonised dial that reveals the iconic GP01800-0006 calibre. With the Laureato Skeleton, Girard-Perregaux has delivered one of the sexiest watches of 2017. Drawing from the original designs of its first Laureato model, created in the 70s by an Italian architect who was inspired by the breathtaking geometries of the Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Flower in Florence, the Swiss Maison has delivered a gorgeous 42mm-work-of-art available in stainless steel or 18K pink gold.

Perfect ergonomics and harmonious proportions are the hallmark of this watch, from its metal bracelet composed of links featuring alternating matt and satin-brushed surfaces to the case of which the lugs form an integral part of its design, all the way to its polished octagonal bezel framed by a circle. At the heart of the Laureato Skeleton lies the skeletonised Fine Watchmaking movement, Calibre GP01800-0006, entirely developed, produced, finished and assembled within the walls of the Manufacture Girard-Perregaux.

Placed at 12 oclock amid this preciously filigree-worked metal structure is its balance, a reminder that the Laureato Skeleton is a living creation with a steadily beating heart. A true carrier of emotions, visions and functions. This is the Laureato Skeleton, a timepiece that strenghtens and enhances Girard-Perregaux's iconic legacy.
