The Vital Simplicity of Laoli

An insight into the past illuminates the vibrant essence of Laoli jewelry, created by the Argentine designer Olivia Ball

Laoli's delightful jewelry encases a highly vital simplicity. An unassuming result that Olivia Ball has achieved by first turning her creative gaze to the past and then molding the notions she learnt into heirlooms of contemporary taste. Raised in Argentina but based in Paris, the designer has safeguarded her childhood memories - her grandmother, who wore gold religious icons around her neck; children whose ears were pierced and studded with pearls; the habit of wearing jewelry every day, even when at home; the tradition of handing it down from generation to generation - and has used them as a source of inspiration for current and sensual collections, made in artisan ateliers certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council.
