Fabergé’s Easter Surprise

Friday, 14 April 2017, by Antonella Reina

Fabergé’s Easter Surprise

Fabergé presents the perfect Easter surprise reinventing its Heritage in a new eggs collection

Easter in jewellery is synonymous of just one brand: Fabergé. The renowned jewellery brand has a long story linked to the eggs. All began in 1885 when Emperor Alexander III gifted Empress Maria Feodorovna a Fabergé golden Easter Egg, known as the Hen Egg. It was crafted from gold with an opaque white enameled ‘shell’, which opens to reveal its first surprise, a gold yolk, in turn opening to reveal a superbly chased golden hen. The Fabergé Imperial Easter eggs are certainly the most celebrated and awe-inspiring of all Fabergé works of art, inextricably bound to the Fabergé name and legend. They are also considered as the last great commissioned series of objets d’art.

Today, Fabergé continues to celebrate this art of gifting with exquisite creations inspired by its illustrious heritage. In keeping with Fabergé’s fondness for the element of surprise, the Heritage collection comprises beautifully crafted locket pendants and earrings that open to reveal a miniature golden hen, in honor of Fabergé’s first Imperial Easter surprise.
