Luchino Visconti filmed part of his film La Provinciale here, not to mention the Oscar-winning director Jane Campion who also used it as a set for several scenes of Portrait of a Lady. It all started in 1665 when Carlo Carli, an extraordinary Lucchese artisan bought the shop for 50 gold crowns.
