Hemmerle's new jewels embody the explosive force of black and white

Hemmerle's new jewels embody the explosive force of black and white

The year is 1995 and jewelry designer Stefan Hemmerle is experimenting an unexpected combination of materials in order to satisfy the request of a family friend for a special ring. Instead of using gold and platinum, the jeweler thus shapes the ring in pure Berlin iron.

The result is a stunning contrast – the black of the iron and the white of the diamonds – and the birth of an authentic jewellery cult. Today, Hemmerle maison rediscovers this beautiful interplay of light and shadow, night and day, in the new bold and iconic jewels for the Spring Summer 16.

Highlights of the new collection: a pair of earrings where sparkling "old European cut" diamonds are set in a “spiky” iron structure whose shape resembles a sea urchin; and a big iron ring that boasts an amazing cushion-cut diamond pave interspersed with smooth surfaces made of dark matte iron.
