Chinese designer Guo Pei and Chopard joined forces to homage the golden era of haute couture
Debuting her new collection during the first day of the Paris haute couture fashion week, which kicked off on the last Sunday in the French capital, the Chinese couturier Guo Pei introduced a new special collaboration with jewelry Maison Chopard. The matching of the jewelry with the dresses was something never seen before: iridescence and shine were everywhere, getting the guests into a precious fairy tail. Chopard’s Caroline Scheufele created statement necklaces and earrings incorporating bold stones linked to the East like jade and gems in hues such as red and yellow. “China is a huge market, the Chinese clients are just discovering quality, so it’s the right time for us to be there. It’s not by chance that I called the collection The Silk Road,” said Scheufele backstage. “In ancient times there were lots of things transported from the East to the West and vice versa, and it’s wonderful to get an inside view of another culture.”
