The Renewed Pearls by Junya Watanabe

The pearl continues to be an object of exploration for designers, who are giving it roles increasingly far removed from the tradition that linked it a more classic femininity. For the Spring/Summer 2023 collection, presented in Paris last September, Junya Watanabe has used pearls as the main decorative element of his postpunk style outfits, but if the relationship between pearls and punk is not new, the Japanese designer has updated their character, transforming them into different sized broguing that runs through the tailored cuts of garments or shoes, as a single immaculate element.
