On Saturday June 21, a new brand of jewelry was christened in Ascoli Piceno. A perfect metaphor given the location: the Bishop's Seminary located next to the Baptistery of Sant'EmidioCathedral, which, after more than 20 years of neglect and 5 more of meticulous restoration, has finally seen the light again thanks to a spectacular transformation. In the presence of a few hundred guests, some also from abroad, hosts Eleonora Boccalatte and Simone Mariani had the honor of unveiling a forgotten masterpiece of art, which, as of today, reopens its doors to a treasure chest full ofeven more treasures. Indeed, the former church, of which only the splendid, central carved marble altar remains, and where silence and inspiration for beauty abound, is now the show room and workshop of the Casa Elenèrejewelry brand, yet another sign of a rebirthin its own way.
Eleonora Boccalatte, with a degree in Economics and Business and several work experiences in various fields, is in fact a child of art. Although known to be a very difficult role to play, those with big dreams manage not only toaccept the legacy of the past, but also to enhance it and take it to another level. And this young entrepreneur, who decided to returnto her roots and take up the challenge of carrying on the family business, has done exactly that. The Leonori brand was founded in Forlì in 1962 by grandfather Agostino, originally from Parma, who, intent on following his passion, moved to Valenza where he learned the secrets of the goldsmith's trade. His son Cesare then fell in love with working at the bench, especially with precious stones, and began to travel all over the world in search of the best gems.Diamonds from Tel Aviv, emeralds from Colombia, rubies from Burma...A passion that quickly infected Eleonora, who, in the meantime, married Simone, a successful food industry entrepreneur from Ascoli with significant expertise in gemology. The picture was complete, the road marked out, and so, as early as 2020, Eleonora became the Leonori brand’s creative director. The transition from Forlì to Ascoli, but especially from Leonori to Elenère, is easily said: the naming takes the three consonants found also in the surname as well as in the name of the brand’s current new leader, as if to underline the family DNA.
The rest of the story will now be written by one-of-a-kind creations, like the emerald parure with over 25 carats of magnificent briolette-cut Colombian stones and another 25 of the purest diamonds, original cocktail rings with rare and unusual gems such as titanite, and collections like Anime, Peony, Hydrangea or Victoria which are already getting themselves noticed due to some of the brand's distinctive elements, including the quatrefoil, an ancient ornamental motif from Gothic and Renaissance art. This geometric four-leaf cloverinvoked protection on church doorsin the pastand has now become an emblem of precious beauty.
Eleonora thus adds a new aesthetic language to her family heritage, blending artisan wisdom with an entirely contemporary sensitivity and giving substance to her mother's words as she set out on her new entrepreneurial adventure: "If you have clear ideas about who you want to be, findyour way. You have an important heritage behind you, the artisan excellence of Made in Italy. Stay true to these values and make them your hallmark."
