GianCarlo Montebello: The Many Lives of a Brilliant Mind

“The many lives of a brilliant mind. GianCarlo Montebello, publisher and master of artistic jewelry”, curated by Paola Stroppiana, ongoing until 5th May at the BABS Art Gallery in Milan, is the first exhibition dedicated to this extraordinary and enlightened creative figure three years after his death. Trained in the world of furnishings and design, he founded Gem-Montebello in 1967, continuing down the road as a jewelry publisher for various artists to be produced in limited edition multiples. The items and photographs in this exhibition refer precisely to this period. His “second life”, to which an exhibition will be dedicated in the fall, began in the late 1970s with the founding of B.O. Body Ornaments for the production and design of jewelry of his own invention.
