At a time when the jewellery and precious metals sector has undergone profound transformations, the opportunity to look back over an entire thirty-year evolution is particularly significant. Open Tarì 2026, taking place from 9 to 12 October in Marcianise, near Caserta, offers exactly that opportunity as it celebrates its so-called “Pearl Anniversary”, marking the 30th edition of the event hosted in the heart of the Campania Goldsmith District. Over the years, Open Tarì has strengthened its role as a key meeting platform for manufacturers, retailers, buyers and professionals across the jewellery supply chain, becoming a privileged observatory of market developments. The anniversary will not simply be celebrated as a historical milestone, but as a moment to reflect on the value of expertise, innovation and relationships that continue to sustain the industry's competitiveness. With approximately 500 exhibiting companies, including both resident and guest brands, the event will showcase everything from high jewellery and fashion collections to contemporary design and advanced manufacturing technologies. The international dimension will be further enhanced through the “Campania Meets the World” project and an inbound programme organised with the support of ITA – Italian Trade Agency, bringing delegations of buyers from Europe, China, Japan, Macao, Thailand and the United States to Marcianise. The initiative aims to create new business opportunities and strengthen the international presence of Italian companies. At the heart of Open Tarì remains the direct dialogue between producers and retailers. It is through this exchange that real value is created: manufacturers gain a deeper understanding of consumer needs, while retailers can explore products, craftsmanship and services capable of differentiating their offering. In this sense, the event continues to be not only a commercial showcase but also a place where professional relationships are built, experiences are shared and new market directions emerge. Among the most anticipated events is “1996 → 2026: When the World Changed. Thirty Years of Transformation Through the Eyes of Tarì”, featuring consumer sociologist and trend analyst Francesco Morace, Tarì President Vincenzo Giannotti and Federpreziosi Confcommercio President Stefano Andreis. The discussion will examine how purchasing behaviours, consumption patterns and perceptions of luxury have evolved over the past three decades, while also addressing the transformation of retail stores, business networks and communication strategies within the sector. Artificial intelligence will also take centre stage. On 10 October at 3:00 pm, Margherita Ruggiero, trainer and generative AI consultant, will lead the seminar “AI Agents and Tools to Simplify Work in Jewellery Retail”. The session will present practical applications for the retail and distribution sectors, including automated inventory data extraction, supplier analysis and purchasing monitoring. Particular attention will be paid to the interaction between intelligent technologies and human expertise, highlighting which activities can be automated and which still require professional judgement. The 30th anniversary programme will be enriched by several cultural initiatives, including “The Time of Gold”, an exhibition dedicated to approximately 150 years of Italian jewellery history, a celebratory exhibition marking Unoaerre's centenary, and a special commemorative postmark issued by Poste Italiane. Open Digital Press will also return, providing a dedicated space for communication and content creation and underlining the growing importance of storytelling and branding within the industry's development strategies. The celebrations will culminate on Saturday, 10 October, with “Chapter 30 – The Celebration”, an evening event in Tarì's Central Square beginning at 8:30 pm. Designed to bring together the community that has contributed to the growth of the jewellery centre over the past three decades, the event will honour the entrepreneurs, professionals, collaborators and industry operators who have helped transform Tarì into one of Italy's leading jewellery hubs.
