Now that we have come to the fourth day of Vicenzaoro, we can say that we have familiarized with the Expo Center’s new, spacious grounds where 1,300 exhibitors from 40 countries and a record number 910 selected buyers from 73 countries are being hosted. The more than 60-million-euro investment required to expand by 23,000 square meters, has now provided the international jewelry community with what IEG President Maurizio Enzo Ermeti has called a “new home”. A colossal undertaking totally financed by Italian Exhibition Group, which, as has been widely noted in recent days, has fully delivered on its promise and adhered to the schedule established two and a half years ago, while enabling no fewer than four editions of the boutique show to take place concurrently with the renovation work. But Vicenzaoro September will also go down in history for other significant “firsts.” Take, for example, the first CIBJO Centennial Congress, which brought over 600 delegates from 40 countries to the Palladio Theater, representatives of the world’s leading organizations in the sector, for a discussion on the issues that are redefining the industry’s future, a core event within a program of seminars and, in the evenings, networking events held in the most charming venues in Vicenza and its province. The inaugural edition of T.Gold, the jewelry machinery and technologies show, is also at its first September edition after having been finally integrated into the headquarters. With over 170 exhibitors from some 40 countries, it adds the final piece to a puzzle that makes the boutique show an increasingly comprehensive platform capable of connecting innovation, production, business and creativity. Another highlight of the cultural program was the Jewellery Technology Forum, which focused the discussion on the value of technological innovation as a strategic lever for business competitiveness, exploring topics related to automation, production process digitization, new technologies applied to manufacturing, and industrial sustainability. At the same time, VO Vintage confirmed the growing interest in the vintage watch and jewelry market, attracting collectors, dealers, experts and enthusiasts from all over Europe. Talks, expert panel discussions and in-depth presentations celebrated the cultural heritage of vintage items, demonstrating how history, authenticity and collectible value are now an increasingly significant component of the luxury market. As the September edition draws to a close, attention is already turning to the VO+ Jewellery Awards, scheduled for next January, which will celebrate the industry’s very best by awarding creativity, innovation, sustainability and entrepreneurial capacity. This event is the natural continuation of the journey that began a few days ago in Vicenza, where the jewelry industry continues to shape its future through expertise, research and international vision.
