Diamond and Jewelry at Panama City

The Second Latin American Diamond and Jewelry Week opened June, the 21th at the World Jewelry Hub in Panama City.
Outlining the program of the Second Latin American Diamond and Jewelry Week, which includes both commercial sessions on the trading floor and in the offices of the World Jewelry Hub, as well as informational seminars and a premiere diamond and jewelry auction, Mahesh Khemlani, President of the World Jewelry & Diamond Hub, Panama, the diamond and gemstone bourse that anchors the World Jewelry Hub, stressed the key role that the three-day gathering can play in the jewelry and gemstone business in Latin America. "We hope that these unique events will consolidate the World Jewelry Hub as the destination of choice for all things related to diamonds, jewelry, precious stones and watches in the entire region," he said. Located in the Santa Maria Business District of Panama City, the World Jewelry Hub (WJH) is a center that serves the specialized needs of the diamond, colored gemstone and jewelry sectors, and is designed to serve the primary trading center in Latin America and the access point to the region for industry professionals from around the world. Home to the Panama Diamond Exchange (PDE), the region's only recognized diamond bourse, WJH has been authorized as a Gemstone and Jewelry Free Zone by the Government of Panama, where transactions conducted within it are exempt from duties and other taxes.
