Five brands. Five colored gemstones. The protagonists of “Objects of Desire from the Depths,” VO+’s editorial project exploring today’s most sought-after precious stones
Every colored gemstone carries its own narrative, rich in symbols and meaning. In the April issue of VO+ Magazine, the project “Objects of Desire from the Depths” examines the value of the most coveted stones of the moment, focusing on the work of brands dedicated to preserving their natural beauty through designs that enhance personality and authenticity. The journey unfolds across ruby, emerald, aquamarine, Paraíba, and pink tourmaline—five stones observed from different perspectives and interpreted through the photography of Alberto Carlo Macchi, alongside the voices of five maisons that have chosen them as the creative core of their collections.A collective narrative emerges, where author-driven photography engages in dialogue with jewelry culture and contemporary research into precious materials. On set, we witnessed precious creations illuminated by light and, above all, by the power of rare gemstones. In the photographic frame, their full expressive force comes into focus. This journey into color “emerging from the depths” begins with Paraíba, set in one-of-a-kind pieces created by Kahn High Jewellery: a white gold necklace and a pair of earrings animated by the diaphanous presence of diamonds and the unmistakable neon vibrations of Paraíba.
