An Unexpected Tribute to Heart by Susana Grau Batlle
A one-of-a-kind collection with a high intrinsic value. The Mother of Mothers by Susana Grau Batlle combines aesthetics and ethics. With a wealth of creativity and a dash of audacity
It seems to help connect the subconscious with the conscious mind and increase the wearer's awareness of her spiritual path: perhaps it is also for these esoteric qualities that Susana Grau Batlle chose azurite with chrysocolla incrustations as the main player in The Mother of Mothers collection, an ethical-aesthetic tribute to the Earth, the great mother of five physical kingdoms, the continents, represented by five one-of-a-kind rings. The American designer came into high jewelry, a true passion, after working for twentyone years in international affairs serving in conflict and post-war zones. The sensitivity she developed, particularly in humanitarian work, triggered her commitment to give a new, sustainable and shared meaning to the way jewelry is conceptualized, purchased and experienced. With a mission: to set up an Earth Fund where a percentage of sales will go to organizations that protect the planet. And so, in her creative journey, she has found in chrysocolla azurite the impetus for a “broader” thinking that touches on respect for ethical practices along the entire supply chain, from the choice of mines to the extraction of the raw material, from packaging to shipping. The expertise of savoir-faire has done the rest. The work carried out with gemologist Anouck Veyret and jewel sculptor Jothi- Sèroj Ebroussard has enhanced the harmony of the colors and shapes of a stone that is already exceptional by nature, then further amplified it with diamonds, either alone or with zircons that frame rubellite or tanzanite, mandarin garnet or tzavorite. The Mother of Mothers thus represents an all-round, contemporary concept of conscious beauty.
