Authorne, the Jewelry Brand with Artistic DNA
Designer Rachel Bu gets her inspiration from a series of symbolic motifs to create sculptural jewelry
Every shape holds a profound meaning in jewelry by Authorne, the brand founded in 2022 and launched in New York last September by designer Rachel Bu. A visual artist of Canadian and Chinese origin, Rachel likes to create sculptural pieces with an artistic DNA traversed by a cultural and conceptual dichotomy between East and West, where provocation and grace, masculinity and femininity, extravagance and substance, audacity and moderation all coexist. Starting from a series of symbolic motifs from which the artist draws inspiration - she admires their cultural resonance and intrinsic meaning - and then adapts each creation to the story of the wearer.
Cicada Brooch
The cicada embodies resilience and longevity. In Chinese literature, it urges us to embrace personal growth and transformation. In green gold, diamonds and emeralds.
Eye Mother Chain
An abstract eye becomes the pattern of a chain inspired by one of the designer’s own amulets, a symbol of self-love. In green gold, diamonds and emeralds.
Tentacles Necklace
A necklace inspired by the tentacle motif, crafted in yellow gold with a matt finish and diamonds and rubies alternating with luminescent golden South Sea pearls.
Guardians Lion
Brooches Perfect as cufflinks, the two brooches depict the figure of lions, symbols of good luck and protection in China, while in Western culture, they act as guardians of ancient temples and royal palaces.
