A string of pearls at the neck, and nothing else. The dress code for Papal audiences is clear: only the sober elegance of pearls is allowed in front of the Pope. And one can be sure that certain creations worn by Queens and First Ladies for this special occasion were Made in Capri, forged in that first boutique opened in 1947, just a stone's throw away from the famous “Piazzetta”. Jackie Onassis, Audrey Hepburn, Liz Taylor, Grace Kelly. The list of celebrities that have passed through here is endless and, while in the past it would have been Pietro Capuano and Salvatore Aprea to welcome them, now it is Salvatore's three children, Maria Elena, Costanza and Gabriele, with his wife Teresa, who are carrying on the goldsmith tradition and pride of a brand that left a mark on an era but has known how to evolve in style and design. In the Chantecler “lounges” in Milan and Tokyo, and in restricted boutiques all over the world. «Being children of Capri and having had the good fortune to grow up in a family that made aesthetic sense a value, have allowed us to aim at an idea of timeless and fashionable beauty,» says Gabriele Aprea. «Nowadays we dedicate our efforts to collections that, with their studied details and uniqueness, transmit the same spirit and magic of those times when an item was literally designed for Jackie'O., and for her alone: Chérie, Paillettes and Enchanté, for example, consist of exclusive creations as only artisan workmanship can be. Not conforming to serial production is now a luxury that only a family business can afford.»same spirit and magic of those times when an item was literally designed for Jackie'O., and for her alone: Chérie, Paillettes and Enchanté, for example, consist of exclusive creations as only artisan workmanship can be.
