Collective Resonance, the New Issue of VO+
The January issue, now on sale, discusses creativity and its transformation, imperfection, new styles, and the long-standing challenges faced by luxury brands
Has creativity truly come to an end, or is it simply changing shape? This question marks the starting point of the January issue of VO+. At a time that seems to demand speed, repeatability, and constant performance, questioning the deeper meaning of the creative act becomes an almost revolutionary gesture. We chose to do so by giving voice to two leading figures in contemporary jewellery: Darren Hildrow, founder of the mentoring project The Jewelry Cast, and Tamara Platiša, Head of Jewellery at London’s Carpenters Workshop Gallery. Their perspectives reveal a creativity that is far from extinct, but rather transformed—more conscious, more conceptual, often quieter, and precisely for this reason capable of leaving a lasting mark. From the value of risk emerges our reflection on imperfection as an identity-defining element, one that restores authenticity and uniqueness to the object. In the same spirit, we observe a phenomenon that continues to prove its strength in the market: piercing. Far from being a mere trend, it remains a space for personal and cultural expression, able to renew itself and engage with diverse audiences without losing relevance. Finally, our dossier addresses one of the most complex challenges facing the luxury industry: longevity. What must a brand do to safeguard its value over time? We explore the strategies required to avoid becoming ephemeral in an era that consumes everything at great speed.
