The new Bonhams auction shines with Hollywood glamour, thanks to the unforgettable style of Joan Collins' jewels
On Thursday 12th November, a selection of jewels from the collection of Dame Joan Collins will form part of the London Jewels sale at Bonhams, evoking all the glamour and glossy atmosphere that have always pervaded the style of the British actress. One of the most precious jewels, among the 5 pieces for sale, will be a diamond necklace, estimated between 50,000 - 70,000 Pounds (65,000 - 91,000 US $), which was purchased in 1985, during the heyday of the TV series Dinasty, where the actress played Alexis, her most celebrated role, which won her a Golden Globe and many other awards in the 1980s. The necklace is made up of brilliant-cut and marquise-cut and stepped diamonds, the total weight of which is approximately 60.50 carats. The sale also includes a pair of pendant earrings with rubies and diamonds and a brooch by Van Cleef & Arpels, circa 1930. «The fabulous thing about jewellery is how extraordinary it makes you feel - these pieces of jewellery have brought me so much joy over the years and I felt it was time for others to experience this» says Dame Joan Collins.
