Earlier this April, luxury online retailer Yoox Net-a-Porter (YNAP), launched its first dedicated online destination for fine jewelry and luxury watches to serve a fast-growing customer base seeking to purchase high-value items in a single click. It has been one of the bigger news in the field, a latest act of the online (r)evolution started by the group in the last five-years. Speaking at a luxury industry conference in Portugal, Federico Marchetti, CEO of YNAP, said: «Fine jewellery and watches are the perfect complement to high fashion. We surprised the sector by introducing this successful category, and the potential of our online platforms for branded jewellery and luxury watches is huge.» Maisons like Piaget, Cartier, Pomellato, Tiffany & Co. and Buccellati were already in. But more fine jewellery brands are joining the online platform. The latest one is the Lebanese designer Gaelle Khouri. The debut drop at Net-a-Porter will see earrings, necklaces and rings in gold and diamonds with sculptural and intricate shapes from the latest ‘The Next Perspective’ collection.
