Solid guidelines for manufacturing excellence and a great passion for history, but with a clear view to the future. This the foundation of Persta, a new Paris-based company that stands out for its innovative appeal with many references to the classics. Starting with its name, which in Latin means ‘persist.’ This brand is the result of a common aim: young twin brothers Olivier and Guilhem Faivre d’Arcier believe that a jewel’s ‘nobility’ is found in its ability to stand the test of time. «Far from mass production, - they explain - Persta aims to focus on a meticulous craftsmanship by making all of our pieces in our Parisian atelier». This commitment to craftsmanship can be seen in ‘Hanging Gardens,’ the first collection, which has a contemporary aesthetic but leads us on a discovery of Mesopotamia and the hanging gardens of Babylon, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Slender necklaces and rings with architectural structures evoke the allure of legendary figures from long ago like Ishtar, the daughter of moon god Sin, and sister of sun god Šamaš. Then there’s Shēdu, a protective deity that is part of Babylonion mythology. It is often depicted as having a human head, a bull’s body and the wings of a bird. This exciting debut aspires to «pay homage to the past to inspire future generations.»
