Ospitalità Italiana: Bulgari’s New Cult Necklace

The new “tubogas” necklace has been created to celebrate the company’s ten hotels – it boasts the same number of precious stones – with the latest property currently being built in Rome. This architectural gem is to open in 2022.

Though it won’t open for two years, some details about the future Bulgari Hotel Roma have been leaked, creating quite the buzz about the decor and overall concept. This architectural endeavour, one of the most extensive projects carried out in Rome, is the work of Studio Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel. It will focus on fine materials and colors that bring to mind the brand’s jewelry style. Travertine marble in ochre, brick in shades of terra-cotta along with imperial marble presented in a big way with color, for rich materials that best interpret the culture of Bulgari. All of this in a building designed in 1936 by Vittorio Ballio Morpurgo, overlooking Piazza Augusto Imperatore, where, as Citterio says, «it will be like entering into a “new” 1940s building», with a seamless blending of old and new.
As a way to preview this hotel that will truly be one-of-a-kind, Bulgari’s CEO Jean-Christophe Babin spoke in an exciting video that offers a taste of the refined allure of the 114 rooms, all of which are suites, as well as the 1,000 square-meter spa with 20-meter pool and the signature suite on the top floor with eight windows offering a spectacular view of the Mausoleum of Augustus and the historic center of the Eternal City. An additional feature will be the library with books on the history of haute joaillerie while lovers of gourmet cuisine will enjoy the rooftop restaurant headed up by three-starred chef Niko Romito, a  faithful partner of Bulgari Hotels & Resorts. As a way of celebrating this partnership between fine hospitality and fine jewelry, the Ospitalità Italiana necklace is being introduced and is sure to be a must-have for the brand’s aficionados. It comes in white gold and will rely  on the iconic “tubogas” method, boasting 10 precious stones, each of which symbolizes the brand’s hotels around the world (Milan, London, Bali, Dubai, Beijing, Shanghai, Moscow, Tokyo, Paris and Rome). This one-of-a-kind piece is available made to order.
