The Aero Club Collection by D’Heygere

Stéphanie D’heygere invited guests to Aéroclub Simulation during Paris Fashion Week to discover the latest collection

With a full-sized immersive flight simulator, used for training pilots, D’Heygere invited guests to discover her new collection through a flight landing on the A/W 2019 accessories collection aptly entitled The Aero Club Collection. The new collection develops further on integrating accessories via the application of keychain fastenings. Functional charms include: the leather Photo Holder; the Comb Charm, a double-ended comb made from up-cycled natural horn; the Scarf Holder, a silver hanger loop with a detachable wool scarf; for the second season, the Pen Charm, the brand’s reinterpretation of the BIC 4-Color Ballpoint Pen featuring a new color variation of green, red, blue, and black. D’heygere’s exploration into the modern dichotomy between luxury and mundane continues for A/W 2019. The new Coaster Earrings in black or brown leather are directly inspired by beer coasters and take form in the collection as a ‘ready-made object’. Made in collaboration with PZ Today, the earrings launched at Dover Street Market Ginza last April in an installation called ‘Drunk in Ginza’. The standout piece in the collection is the (Ear)Ring, a classic engagement ring using white or pink Zirconia, sponsored by Swarovski, that can also be worn as a single earring. The sponsorship with Swarovski comes within a year of D’heygere winning the prestigious ANDAM Accessories Prize in 2018. For the 2019 campaign, designer Stephanie D’heygere returns to her previous boarding school of Bethanië in Loppem, Belgium, to photograph the final year students wearing the S/S 2019 and F/W 2019 collections. Inspired by the ritual of accessorizing to express one’s personality in the context of school, the images candidly depict the world between individuality and conformity.
