Why dedicate an issue to gold? I am opening the editorial with a question just to be consistent with the direction we have decided to give this monographic issue, which is to talk about gold, recount its current scenarios, evolutions, critical issues and opportunities, starting from a series of provocative questions that, in these pages, are the forerunner to in-depth studies, reflections, analyses and stories, collected with the same passion and care with which we approach every issue of VO+. It was not an easy choice because the urge to talk about everything and to speak about gold in all its infinite traits and aspects - cultural, anthropological, customary, economic, financial, sustainable, geopolitical - was overwhelming. But in the end, that journalistic sense which intercepts, chooses and decides what is best to embrace, analyze and explore through the voices of those who constantly monitor this market, won the day. A choice of field therefore prevailed, favoring the creation of a super partes observatory, so that all those who work in the world of jewelry and are “nourished” by gold on a daily basis, can grasp an extra “something” of knowledge.
