Armenia lands perfectly in the Design Room with creations by talented Mike Saatji
Design Room once again broadens its horizons, this time reaching Armenia in the wake of new entry Mike Joseph, a fine jewelry brand founded in 2015 by Armenian jeweler Mike Saatji. Born into a family of goldsmiths, he developed an early passion for diamonds and colored gemstones, which led him to travel from one part of the globe to another to master the art of setting them. A pupil of some of the great international masters, he quickly honed his craftsmanship and style and, in 2000, started his own manufacturing business offering an unconventional aesthetic that earned him prestigious awards, especially at Couture Las Vegas: in 2015, he won first place in the Gold Jewelry Below $20,000 category; in 2018, first place in the Diamond Above $20,000 category, followed in 2019 by first place in the Haute Couture category.
At Vicenzaoro, he is presenting the Venetian Collection, which draws inspiration from the age-old art of glassmaking in Murano, where artisans have used intense heat to transform rigid glass into fluid, malleable shapes. This collection captures the beauty of this transformation in gold, celebrating the ability to mold the precious metal into exquisite designs. Each piece is meticulously crafted in 18 kt, brushed yellow, SMO (Single Mine Origin) gold, embellished with white diamonds and touches of black enamel for a timeless elegance that pays homage to the ancient art of glassmaking.
The Petals Collection celebrates the charm of flowers reinterpreted in a kaleidoscope of colors: bright purples, blues, pinks, and greens. Made in 18k SMO gold and diamonds, the petals are formed from titanium, a bold yet graceful reinterpretation of the beauty of nature.
