Vicenzaoro Highlights, September 2025: Growing Together

A successful edition has come to a close. One that saw the debut of The Vicenza Symposium, an important new event on IEG's jewelry calendar, which brought the number of consecutive business days in the “city of gold” to eight

Time for a recap and brief memorandum on this September edition of Vicenzaoro, organized by Italian Exhibition Group, now on its final day. Let's start with the press presentation of the new hall under construction, which took place on Sunday afternoon on the first-floor terrace of the VIP Restaurant, the perfect vantage point from which to view the emerging structure.

The “host” was Mario Vescovo, Director of IEG’s Vicenza venue and Director of Operations at the same facility, who gave a detailed presentation of the development project for the new 22,000 m² area and what will take shape from now and over the next 12 months to accommodate, as of September 2026, the entire high-tech sector of TGold, which will finally be incorporated into the jewelry boutique show, forming what will effectively be the largest boutique show in Europe and one of the world’s top three.

While awaiting the final outcome of the work, the result of a €60 million investment taken exclusively from IEG's internal capital, Vicenzaoro continues to be increasingly attractive to an ever more diverse audience, as the following macro figures show: 1,200 brands from 30 countries and over 600 international buyers from 62 nations, to which must be added those from the first edition of The Vicenza Symposium, namely 170 participants from 15 countries, representing some 80 companies, brands, academic institutions and research centers, selected from among the best in the global market.

Held from September 2 to 4 at the Basilica Palladiana, the 21 speeches at the Symposium, which focused on the sector’s most innovative technologies, were just a prelude to the 5 days of business at the jewelry event, which itself offered more than 30 hours of talks and seminars on the topic of training. It is well known that one of IEG’s strengths is its support in disseminating industry culture and this will increase even further when every link in the chain is literally brought together under one roof, thus facilitating networking and business between the parties.

We could say that the birth of the Symposium itself is due to a unique rather than rare virtuous model, since it was the result of the close collaboration between two historically competing companies, Legor Group and Progold. What could be defined as an example of “coopetition,” i.e., cooperation + competition, where the latter is set aside in favor of a common good that will bring widespread well-being in a certain field.

In other ways, something similar has already been ongoing since the January 2024 edition in Vicenzaoro’s Design Room community with IEG’s “The 8” project, an area for 8 young talents selected from institutions like the IED – European Institute of Design, TADS – Tarì Design School and Master in Jewelry History, Design and Marketing course in Arezzo, taken under the wing of exceptional mentors such as entrepreneur Alessia Crivelli, independent designer Alessio Boschi, Luca Daverio and the Fondazione Mani Intelligenti.

The next international events on IEG's Jewelry Agenda will see the industry take center stage in Dubai for JGTD – JGT – Jewellery, Gems and Technology in Dubai (November 11-13, 2025), then in Vicenza for Vicenzaoro January (January 16-20, 2026), hoping that stable gold prices and a more relaxed geopolitical situation will give the sector a new boost.
