Chopard for a good cause
Chopard joins Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation in Saint-Tropez.
The Italian jewelry brand Chopard, always strongly committed to various philanthropic organizations, was co-partner at the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation (LDF) Third Annual Auction Gala, hosted last July 21 in Saint-Tropez. The event raised nearly $45 million, which will support the foundation’s mission of protecting the earth and all of its inhabitants from climate change and the environmental crises it has created. Opening the evening addressing society’s ability to solve the urgent environmental challenges facing our future, Mr. DiCaprio said, “while we are the first generation that has the technology, the scientific knowledge and the global will to build a truly sustainable economic future for all of humanity – we are the last generation that has a chance to stop climate change before it is too late.”
Simon de Pury conducted the live auction, which was filled with unique experiences, luxury collectibles and memorabilia – including personal items given by Mr. DiCaprio, and a collection of fine art from universally renowned artists Jeff Koons, Pablo Picasso, Urs Fischer, Olafur Eliasson, and Adrian Villar Rojas, among many others.
