A New Vision of the History of Costume Jewelry

Costume Jewelry is the new book that recounts the bold and creative evolution of costume jewelry, through pieces from Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo's collection

An extraordinary collection celebrates the history of costume jewelry through pieces collected by Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo. From early twentieth-century New York, where European artisans rebuilt the craft, an era of bold and accessible jewelry was born. Costume Jewelry, published by Taschen, with texts by Carol Woolton and Maria Luisa Frisa, presents approximately 600 creations from 1930 to the present, photographed by Luciano Romano. The jewels thus become symbols of freedom, identity, and creativity, worn by Hollywood icons and influenced by cultural movements and innovative materials. A work that blends art, fashion, and history, inspiring collectors and designers.
