Artificial Intelligence and Creativity Face to Face at Tarì Preview

A recently ended successful edition that put the Campania Goldsmith District back into the spotlight

The edition of Tarì Preview that opened the 2024 spring season in the Campania Goldsmith District has come to an end. A two-day event – 3rd and 4th March - that saw business-oriented meetings between the historic companies, regulars at the trade show – which recorded over 400 exhibitors - as well as numerous companies from outside the region that for years have chosen Tarì as the “marketplace” for presenting their new fashion collections. Preview has always been the place to exhibit the new season’s items ahead of time and, with an eye always projected to the future, also what will soon be featured at Open Maggio, the most important local event. In other words, a discovery of what will be the new trends in precious and fashion jewelry, including items amassed and interpreted by young people as part of the ARTI project. The latter is Preview’s exhibition section that showcases the best of Made in Italy craftsmanship and is the result of collaboration with the Tarì Design School, the Goldsmith Centre's school that, for more than three decades, has been giving professional training to those who aspire to become creators of beauty. Those who were able to explore this section found themselves immersed in a special, and at times emotional, journey where each piece of jewelry on display was represented through all the stages of its production, from the first sketch to the final finish. The purpose of this “exhibition within the exhibition” was also to illustrate and highlight the thousand facets of the goldsmith profession that, while still partly unknown to most people, knows how to reveal enormously attractive aspects even for the new generations. Especially now, seeing that, in recent years, the sector has begun to be positively “contaminated” by a considerable amount of technology, something that the Gen Z can relate to. An example of this was the in-depth meeting with some leading experts in the field of Artificial Intelligence, entitled “A.I. & Jewelry Retail”, which invited reflection on the fact that tradition and innovation can come together profitably at the goldsmith's workshop and in the retail world.
