Diane Venet's Exhibition in Paris

Everything began the day her husband gave her a silver stick to twist around her finger as a token of love. It was that simple gesture that set Diane Venet on a path to seeking out artists’ jewelry creations. She explains they are «unique pieces of art, priceless for their rarity and symbolic meaning, which is often the origin of the creations.» About thirty years have passed and Mrs Venet, the wife of sculptor Bernar Venet, as well as noted contemporary art collector, has accumulated about 230 pieces created by modern painters and sculptors. Her collection, completed by exceptional loans from galleries, collectors and artists’ families, is now going to be shown at an exhibition designed by interior designer Antoine Plazanet and graphic designers ÉricandMarie. ‘Artists' Jewellery from Calder to Koons. Diane Venet's ideal collection’ opens today - 7 March - at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and will be running until 8 July 2018. The exhibition, divided chronologically and thematically, illustrates the work of 150 artists from Alexander Calder to Jeff Koons, and from Pablo Picasso to César.
