Everything Ready for Tarì Open

Last touches to the stands of the 520 companies that will fill the Neapolitan gold district’s Expo Center from 6th to 9th October. Four days of business and jewelry culture

Numerical trend up 10% at Tarì Open, scheduled to take place from 6th to 9th October. A total of 520 companies will be participating, including, as always, the 400 Tarì regulars, all of which are currently finalizing their new fine and gold jewelry and watch collections and design accessories for 2024. A performance that matches that of the incoming international buyers thanks to the constant and by now customary collaboration with ITA – Italian Trade Agency with a good 14 foreign countries involved, selected from the European and Mediterranean area and represented by 60 selected buyers who will meet the over 520 exhibiting companies during the days of the show.

«I am very proud to present this new edition of Open, which aims to convey a highly positive message and numerous concrete ideas to the European goldsmithing world,» says Vincenzo Giannotti, President of the Jewelry Centre. «Il Tarì has steadily broadened and strengthened its internal skills and approach to innovation over the years, aiming to offer companies a constantly up-to-date panorama of services and opportunities. At this important event, not only are we committed to fully meeting the business expectations of all participating companies, we will also be able to present our guests with a concrete and reliable cross-section of what our Jewelry Center offers, not only at trade fairs, but continuously throughout the year. From the artisan world to specialized in-house photographic studios, from technology at the service of communication to professional consultancy for jewelry companies and technical training at our School, which, in a few months’ time, will be flanked by our Tarì Business Academy’s extensive managerial training program, we will once again be ready to add value to Tarì’s uniqueness, which is, after all, an exceptional innovation and jewelry culture initiative.»

The packed exhibition program will include a series of events of cultural significance in support of Tarì's great relationship with local museum institutions. The exhibition entitled “The Wonders of Gold. Precious items and jewelry from the National Archaeological Museum of Naples” will be staged from Friday 6th to Sunday 9th and will include a selection of the most precious jewelry that this major Neapolitan Museum preserves. The artist Akelo will introduce the exhibition with “Pompeii, footprints of life”, nine works inspired by the world of classical myths and the dramatic eruption of 79 AD. The close link between the history of classical jewelry and the contemporary evolution of design will be demonstrated by an exhibition of the creations of the 10 young winners of the “Jewelry DNA” design contest. Tarì Open will also see the final phase of the Gemological Analysis Project which, exhibited at Tarì last May, involved about 30 jewels, mainly from the famous “gem cutter’s house” in Pompeii. Lasting approximately six months and coordinated by Loredana Prosperi, director of the Italian Gemological Institute, and Ciro Paolillo, a lecturer specializing in investigative gemology, the analysis was made in collaboration with the faculty of History Anthropology Religion Art Entertainment (SARAS) - Sapienza University of Rome and Catania University. A highly innovative project, carried out at the express request of Gabriel Zuchtriegel, Director of the Archaeological Park of Pompeii, which aims, through the joint application of traditional and investigative gemology techniques, to bring to light materials, origins and processing methods that are still little investigated and destined to become a cornerstone for future investigations.
