Fleur Fairfax: The Charm of Ancient Treasures

Jane Fleur Strang Steel, founder and creative director of Fleur Fairfax, reinvents antique treasures with the aim of preserving the art and quality of British craftsmanship

Designer Jane Fleur Strang Steel, founder and creative director of Fleur Fairfax with a background in gemology studies, has a life-long passion for the Georgian and Victorian periods. A love that translates into a search for antique jewelry and the creation of original pieces inspired by them. The collection starts from identifying the antique treasures to be reinvented with the aim of preserving the art and quality of British jewelry workmanship and reviving its manual skills. In Fleur Fairfax, antique pieces coexist with the modern Regency Revival line, again linked to the tradition of British jewelry, made entirely in 100% recycled gold with responsibly sourced precious stones. As is the case of the Fleur Fairfax Book Ring which, handmade in 18-carat gold and decorated with enamels, was inspired by an original Georgian ring from around 1830 that opens like a book.
