Gismondi 1754 First at the Couture Awards
Last Saturday in Las Vegas, Gismondi 1754 won top prize in the "Diamonds above $20K" category
An evening that offered plenty of excitement with the return of the much-coveted trophies at the Couture Awards in Las Vegas, where the Genoese company, Gismondi 1754, was also on the winners' bandwagon.
The brand won first place in the “diamonds above $20K” category with its One of a Kind “Raggio di Sole” necklace in white and fancy yellow diamonds. On the same evening, Gismondi 1754 was also a finalist in the “People's Choice” category, which it had already pocketed in 2019 with its Essenza necklace.
Raggio di Sole took over 600 hours and more than six months to make. The necklace consists of 27.83 carats of white drop-cut diamonds and 16.04 carats of fancy yellow diamonds and, together with the bracelet and earrings, was completed shortly before the event. The ring will be the last item added to the collection.
Massimo Gismondi drew inspiration for Raggio di Sole one morning at dawn in his chalet in Valtournenche in 2020 during the lockdown when, over his morning coffee, he watched the sun rise from behind the mountain peak. The necklace is his interpretation of the sun’s first rays creating a crown behind the mountain as it began to light up the sky.
«For me, this 'ray of sunshine' represented a magical rebirth to life and the importance of starting every day with love and passion for those we love and those we have lost,» said Massimo Gismondi. «Creating this very special piece of jewelry was an incredibly intricate process and I am extremely honored that the Couture judges have acknowledged the art and soul it represents.»
