Istanbul’s Rosy Spring
The Istanbul Jewelry Show recorded a positive edition with +8% visitors and a turnover of 80% of the domestic market
The +8% increase in international visitors compared to the March 2023 edition would be enough to sum up the four days of the Istanbul Jewelry Show, proving the ever-increasing appeal of the Turkish exhibition, the only local B2B event, that is now among the top 5 on the international scene. However, the other numbers are also worth mentioning since they give a picture of a constantly growing sector: over 1,500 companies from 16 countries and more than 30,000 visitors from 139 nations distributed over an area of 70,000 m2. To be more specific, IJS saw a 180% increase in the number of visitors from the Far East countries, 68% from Northern Europe, 64% from Central Asia, 63% from South-East Asia, 47% from the Pacific Rim, 32% from North Asia and 30% from Southern Europe.
Credit for these results goes to Informa Markets’ organization and the support of Elmas Kule as sponsor, which together were able to gather the world of jewelry in the Istanbul Expo Center, covering a product range from manufacturing machinery and raw materials to finished jewelry.
Incoming was also promoted through the “International Buyer Delegation Program” organized by the Jewelry Exporters Association and Informa Markets with the aim of increasing business to and from abroad, discovering new markets and garnering current market share.
A focal point also underlined in the statements of IJS founding partner Şermin Cengiz: «80% of the Turkish market comes from what happens during this event and 41% of this year's visitors came from abroad. Therefore, IJS strongly continues its mission to contribute directly to exports.» The next appointment is from 2nd to 5th October next autumn.
