Jewellery, Gem & Technology: Dubai Fair Kicks Off

From November 12 to 14, 2024, the Dubai Exhibition Centre hosts the third edition of the international B2B fair with over 350 exhibitors, new pavilions, and exclusive events

The third edition of Jewellery, Gem & Technology Dubai (JGTD) opens today at the Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) in Expo City, offering international buyers a wealth of opportunities to explore, learn, and engage. This B2B event, running from November 12 to 14, features over 350 exhibitors from more than 25 countries, spread across 16 thematic zones.

Among the highlights of this year’s fair are nine national and regional pavilions, including debuting groups from China, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and the USA, alongside returning pavilions from Hong Kong, India, Italy, and Turkey. The fair also introduces two new themed zones: the Dubai City of Gold Pavilion, curated by the Dubai Jewellery Group (DJG), and Dubai Jewel Narratives by the Dubai Business Group for Gold & Jewellery Designers (DBGGJD). These zones complement the traditional areas dedicated to Finished and Semi-Finished Jewellery, Loose Diamonds & Coloured Gemstones, Jewellery Technology, and Lab-Grown Diamonds.

One of the event’s most appreciated features is the complimentary shuttle service connecting the Gold Souk to the DEC every 60 minutes throughout the fair, enhancing convenience for attendees.

Celine Lau, Director of Jewellery Fairs at Informa Markets, emphasized the event’s continuous evolution: “Since our launch in 2022, we've focused on growth and adaptation, offering fresh opportunities and a dynamic content lineup. The third edition is the result of this approach.”

Dubai City of Gold serves as the perfect backdrop for the event. Marco Carniello, Chief Business Officer at Italian Exhibition Group, added: “Dubai is the ideal location for JGTD due to its modernity, connectivity, and deep-rooted trading history, particularly in jewellery.”

The event’s prestige is further boosted by its overlap with Dubai Diamond Week, featuring world-class events such as the Dubai Diamond Conference and the Kimberley Process Plenary Session.

The Dubai Jewellery Group has also strengthened its role by bringing together key manufacturers under the Dubai City of Gold Pavilion. Tawhid Abdulla, Chairman of DJG, stated: "At a time of market volatility, events like JGTD play a vital role in providing valuable insights and fostering new connections."

Beyond buying opportunities, attendees can engage in educational events, such as seminars and panel discussions on trends and innovation, scheduled for November 13. Key events include discussions on "Emerging Jewellery Designers" and "Advancements in Jewellery Technology." The UAE-Italy Golden Bridge Awards will honor top buyers from Dubai’s Gold Souk.

Additionally, the DBGGJD will host the Ebdaa International Jewellery Design Awards on November 14, celebrating outstanding global design talents.
