The San Carlo Theatre, the Royal Palace of Caserta and the Pompeii and Herculaneum excavations. Masterpieces and works that still attract culture tourists to Campania and all sites promoted by one enlightened sovereign, Charles of Bourbon, King of Naples, who contributed significantly to transforming the face of his city. He was crowned in 1734 with what was called the “most beautiful crown in Europe”. An almost mythological jewel, unfortunately now lost, whose famed beauty has been handed down through the centuries to present day. It was also the protagonist of an ad hoc exhibition at the recent edition of Open, the jewelry exhibition at the Tarì Goldsmith Centre in Campania. Its faithful historical reconstruction, made with the aid of valuable documents in the Naples State Archives, numerous paintings by great masters of the 18th and 19th centuries and the careful work of a pool of gemologists, designers and jewelers coordinated by Ciro Paolillo, professor of investigative gemology at Rome's La Sapienza University, will, after the Tarì, tour a number of important museums, until it finds its natural and final home as part of the Treasure of San Gennaro in Naples. Alongside this cultural event, Open saw more than 500 companies presenting their latest collections to the thousands of Italian and European retailers hosted at the exhibition, who also enjoyed a full and much-appreciated networking program that culminated with the now customary Golden Party. An event that increasingly features sustainable choices with numerous initiatives that aim to reduce the circulation of vehicles through an extensive free transfer service available to customers and exhibitors, and that makes an increasingly significant contribution to the GDP of the area through the hospitality and welcome packages coordinated by the Goldsmith Centre staff, which is now already looking ahead to next October's appointment.
