Pomellato: "Art & Jewelry" Retrospective on Display in Shanghai
The brand tells its story through a retrospective at the Fosun Art Foundation, showcasing over 100 iconic pieces on display in Shanghai until November 24
Art & Jewelry: Pomellato's Legacy of Creativity and Craftsmanship, From 1967 to Today" will be open until November 24. The exhibition, inaugurated by Pomellato with an exclusive opening ceremony and gala dinner at the Fosun Art Foundation in Shanghai, was hosted by Pomellato CEO Sabina Belli and Chief Marketing and Product Officer Boris Barboni, marking an important milestone in the brand’s history.
Curated by Alba Cappellieri, Head of Jewelry Design at Politecnico di Milano, the retrospective presents over 100 iconic jewels alongside historic advertising campaigns by renowned photographers such as Gian Paolo Barbieri, Michel Comte, and Lord Snowdon, tracing Pomellato's revolutionary journey from 1967 to today.
The exhibition showcases the Maison's avant-garde spirit through three distinct decades of creativity, celebrating Milan's influence on the brand's distinctive design aesthetic. A special installation featuring works by Chinese artist Chen Man and an innovative AI-generated portrait series by Milanese artists Alberto Maria Colombo and Anna Paladini complete the contemporary perspective of the exhibition, which will remain open to the public until November 24th, 2024.
The evening continued with an intimate gala dinner where guests experienced an artistic program featuring acclaimed international pianist Wu Muye, who performed romantic era masterpieces, followed by a contemporary rock ballet choreographed specifically for the occasion, featuring leading dancers from the Shanghai Theater Academy.
Notable attendees included actor Liu Yuning, actress Ma Yili, actress Janice Man, actor Elvis Han, China’s first Winter Olympics champion Yang Yang, actress Jasmine Xia, along with numerous media friends such as fashion columnist Teresa Cheung, and institutional figures President of Kering Greater China Cai Jinqing, Consul General at the Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai Tiziana D’Angelo, who joined the celebration of Pomellato's legacy of craftsmanship and creative jewelry design.
