The Creative Energy by AVW

Balance, grace and elegance in clean lines for the first collection by Anna Von Westen, a young designer with a cosmopolitan style

Place of birth Poland. Paternal origins in Germany. Studies in Florence, Italy, at the Accademia delle Arti Orafe goldsmith school. Home and studio in London, England. Anna Von Westen is cosmopolitan by DNA but also by choice due to a dynamic and eager-toexperiment nature that has always led her to look at everything with curiosity, firstly at the world of fashion and then at jewelry, literally putting her hand to it when she did not yet have the knowledge and technique to do so. In her childhood memories, she already had a clear idea of what her jewelry brand would become today… «From an early age, I loved to touch the stones in my mother’s jewelry. I would wear them, pretending to be grown up and to imitate my great-grandmother, a woman of great class who had exceptional taste in dressing and matching accessories. In my teens, I began to experiment by embellishing my swimming costumes with bead-embroidered motifs, while my first experience in the fashion world was in an atelier, where I learnt how to look for and select materials and thanks to which, I understood the importance of raw materials and handmade work. I love selecting stones that convey emotions and imagining them combined with a certain metal. I find it extraordinary how creativity can be transformed into something real in the hands of our master craftsmen. With AVW, I wish to give shape to what has always been within me, and my aim is to be able to convey an idea of style balanced in shapes and volumes. A style that expresses timeless grace and elegance. Anna Von Westen jewelry can, in fact, be defined as unique pieces to be worn on any occasion. The first collection is centered on the use of emeralds and sapphires surrounded by white diamonds that illuminate them, and already here you can see that game of settings that helps me better shape what I call contemporary and the cult I have for modernity. Although this is only the first step, I look to the future with one desire only: to make our creative energy burst out in all its potential and forms.»
