The Istanbul Jewelry Show is Set to Go

From 16th to 19th March, the Istanbul Jewelry Show is back for its 53rd edition with an expected 1,500 exhibitors from more than 140 countries

More than 40,000 industry professionals from over 140 countries will throng the halls of the Istanbul Expo Center between 16th and 19th March for the 53rd edition of the Istanbul Jewelry Show. Remarkable numbers that go hand in hand with those of Turkey itself, which recorded an absolute record in January of 419.9 million dollars in jewelry exports, ranking it among the top 10 countries in world jewelry production, amounting to 35 tons per year. Going into further detail, in 2022 the Turkish jewelry industry achieved exports of 5 billion 855 million dollars, with growing figures despite the well-known difficulties in the supply of raw materials: gold and silver jewelry exports increased by 7% and those with precious stones grew by 33%.

The event, organized by Informa Markets, a leading company in the creation of physical platforms for specialized industries and markets, will see the participation of buyers from the USA, India and Europe, who will have the unique opportunity to personally experience what the know-how of more than 1,500 companies, encompassing almost the entire supply chain, is able to produce. The show will not only feature gold jewelry, precious and semi-precious stones, but also silver household items, casting, refining, watches, displays and packaging, machinery-equipment, safes, software, logistics and specific lighting. The “Art for Jewelry - Inspiration Hub” will also be held at the show in cooperation with the Association of Jewelry Exporters and the Istanbul Chamber of Jewelers.

Şermin Cengiz, a founding partner of the Istanbul Jewelry Show, said: «Jewelry is a leading product that adds value and accounts for 80% of our show's $6 billion export. The gold reserves discovered in Turkey have a positive impact on exports and domestic demand. While 37 years ago we opened the show with 38 companies, we now offer a unique environment that promotes the Turkish jewelry industry around the world. We will continue unceasingly to create job opportunities for our industry and further increase our export target.»

Alongside business targets, in recent years, the Jewelry Expo Center has also added environmental awareness by activating a series of structural and organizational initiatives aimed at energy saving and sustainability: less printed material, recycled badges and exhibition carpeting, energy saving through LED technology, online preparation of visitor surveys through tablets to reduce the use of paper and transporting exhibitors and visitors to the exhibition area using mass transit means to minimize CO2 emissions.
