The Italian Jewellery Summit: a Strategic Event for Gold and Italian Jewellery Begins
From December 5th to 6th, Italian Exhibition Group and industry associations will explore innovation, sustainability, and generational renewal for the future of the Italian gold and jewelry supply chain
Starting tomorrow, the fourth edition of the Italian Jewelry Summit begins. Industry associations are joining forces with Italian Exhibition Group to write a new chapter for the future of the Italian gold and jewelry sector. The event at Arezzo Fiere e Congressi doubles its agenda: alongside the strategic discussions on Thursday, December 5th, the regional stage of Smart Future Toscana 24 will take place on the morning of Friday, December 6th.
The focus will be on industrial strategies and business-education matchmaking, showcasing success stories of Made in Italy manufacturing, from jewelry to textiles and biotech, with a particular emphasis on women’s empowerment in the workforce.
Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), the organizer of Oroarezzo and Vicenzaoro, has long been committed to projects shared with industry associations to foster generational renewal in the supply chain. Now, IEG calls on its partners to envision a new shared goal: after securing the future workforce of Made in Italy jewelry, it is time to focus on the consumers of tomorrow.
Giordana Giordini, President of Confindustria Federorafi Toscana Sud, said: “Understanding what young consumers want is essential for companies. One tool addressing this is Vivioro, a project developed with Federpreziosi to promote Arezzo jewelry while aligning with Generation Z’s new sensitivities. Jewelry carries intrinsic value, and we produce it following values such as recycling raw materials, ethical sourcing certifications, and digital innovation, even in small businesses. The next step is to communicate the green essence of our jewelry, and IEG provides crucial support in this task.”
Mauro Benvenuto, President of Orafi CNA, noted: “We are ready for the circular economy, though less adept at communicating it. Our relationship with gold ensures that jewelry never goes out of style. However, this message must reach younger generations, and the trade show system plays a key role in bridging the gap between producers and retailers.”
Luca Parrini, President of Confartigianato Orafi e Argentieri, commented: “The strength of the Arezzo Summit lies in bringing new ideas and creating opportunities for industry reflection. Training and understanding tomorrow’s consumers are critical, and the Summit can anticipate future trends.”
Vincenzo Aucella, President of Assocoral, shared: “Coral and cameos meet market needs with a bespoke approach. This adaptability needs to be communicated, and the Summit provides a perfect moment to reflect and plan ahead.”
Massimo Guasconi, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Arezzo-Siena, highlighted: “In the first half of 2024, jewelry made a significant contribution to Italian exports. However, the domestic market needs more effective marketing strategies like Vivioro to engage young consumers.”
Stefano Andreis, President of Federpreziosi Confcommercio, remarked: “Understanding new consumer profiles and introducing innovative skills is essential. IEG plays a vital role in fostering collaboration among associations, and the Jewelry Summit is the ideal platform to amplify this approach.”
Alessia Crivelli, Vice President of Federorafi, concluded: “We are committed to ensuring continuity in our craft, both by supporting the workforce and by nurturing new entrepreneurs. Our focus is on growing with young people.”
