The Magic Time by Anna Maccieri Rossi
Deeply inspired by the theme of time, all Anna Maccieri Rossi’s new creations are precious amulets, perfect for celebrating life with awareness and gratitude
Forget the idea of a watch as a useful instrument for marking the rhythm of your commitments and start contemplating the intrinsic value of its perpetual movement. Only then can you enter the world of Anna Maccieri Rossi, a magical place in which items of jewelry are communicative amulets and time takes on a new meaning. A fervidly creative and prolific designer, Anna inaugurates spring 2023 with a series of new entries that embody her vision of sentimental and dreamy jewelry, aimed at restoring a contemplative look at time and celebrating “the art of lingering” over passing moments to savor their true flavor. «We must experience time, appreciate it, not just admire it, let it flow, pursue it.» This is the supplication that resonates in “Carpe Diem”, one of the designer’s favorite collections which, this year, is being updated with new models. «The message is simple: seize the moment. The main feature is a single star-shaped hand that moves with every second. For the first time, the movement of a watch is not used to tell the time, but to invite the wearer to live with awareness and gratitude.» This celebration of time is expressed through elaborate, made-in-Italy artisan techniques involving the experimental and innovative use of materials typical of the Métiers d’Art of haute horlogerie. This work is clearly evident in the jewelry of the “Ora” collection with its discs of hard stone or blue aventurine glass, reminiscent of a watch dial with a star set in the center to signal the importance of living in the present, and in the talismans of “Art”, which display handpainted dials, enameled or decorated with mosaics and engravings. “Night & Day”, on the other hand, is dedicated to female versatility. A collection in which lightness and depth come together, thanks to the character of jewelry designed for every moment of the day. A sophisticated mobile structure, in fact, allows the wearer to switch the decorative poetic paintings around. The very latest new idea to make its debut in this enchanted imagery is “Buttoned Up”, a playful and ironic collection composed of precious “button covers” that can be applied to any button in order to personalize every outfit. Made of 18kt gold or 925% silver, with hard or semi-precious stones or diamonds and sapphires, they feature the painted and worked discs so typical of Anna’s style.
