The Unique Show Enchants Lugano

The event in the Ticino capital brings to the stage some of the most innovative jewelry companies on the international scene

Audacious design, large stones and exquisite craftsmanship. These are the three trends that emerged during the three days of Luxury Lugano-The Unique Show 2024, an event that has just concluded in the prestigious space of the LAC in Lugano. The fine and high jewelry exhibition concept conceived in 2020 by Dalila Daffara has always had a mission: to enhance the creativity of the exhibitors, 19 in total from all over the world and selected among the brands that have been able to conquer the international scene in the space of even a few seasons. This is the case, for example, of Alexander Laut, thanks to the use of rare and unusual gems, or of Shavarsh Hakobian, whose highly eclectic style mixes Armenian traditions and global influences. And then Qitteri, the latter characterized by an abstract conceptualism that identifies the signature of the architect Michel Tortel. A discreet elegance is instead the note of Vitale Jewelry, a company from Padua, and Pasquini Roma, an example of the highest jewelry tradition of the Italian capital, exactly like Auraria, founded in 2003 by Marcello Fradiani and Alessio Tirinato. A poetic contemporaneity is that of Treesure, a brand from Vicenza capable of treating gold and precious stones like a fine fabric, while a more daring touch is that of Nisi Gioielli, a brand that is just over a year old, young like Costanza Nisi, a designer who dresses the body with body jewelry with a distinctive tone. Beautiful pieces by Olympus Art and Matthia’s & Claire, which enchant with apparently simple details but the result of great artisanal skill. Scavia, on the other hand, tells a story that has already been codified for many seasons, an icon of a savoir-faire that, although anchored to age-old techniques, looks to the future, winking both at sustainability and at the timeless design of the individual pieces. Maddalena Di Stefano's high-tech graphics are surprising, as is the erotic whimsy of Jarretiere, the all-female brand created for women that won "Best in Gold Design" at the Town & Country Jewelry Awards in Las Vegas. The jewels of Elena Semy, Spinelli Gioielli and Louisa Westwood also speak of environmental sustainability, thanks to their stylistic and technical rigor, attention to detail and contemporary look at femininity. A classic touch that never tires finally characterizes the creations of Lorini Gioielli, La Prima Gioielli and Il Diamante, which stand out for their sophisticated simplicity. The next appointment with The Unique Show is now in Monte-Carlo for the weekend of 18 - 21 June 2025, an event that, taking up but innovating the winning format of Lugano, will see thirty companies exhibited alongside a museum section dedicated to those who experience jewelry as an art form for true connoisseurs.
