A Dive into Tudor is the title of the one-issue talk being held today from 11 to 11.45 am in Lounge 7.1 at VO'Clock Privé: the brand’s history and values will be discussed. The round table, moderated by the watch expert Giorgione and Michele Mengoli, Editor- in-Chief of Watch Insanity, will feature two exceptional speakers from inside Tudor, Renato Scloza, Brand Manager, and Ander Ugarte, Head of Design, who will be giving different points of view on the essence of an award-winning Swiss watchmaking brand that stands out for its production of mechanical timepieces with a recognizable style, extraordinary reliability and an unrivalled price-quality ratio. «2023 has been a very important year because the new factory in Le Locle, in the Jura region of Switzerland, was inaugurated,» Renato Scloza points out. «Here the highest watchmaking know-how and the most advanced technology coexist in perfect harmony, a combination that once again preserves the mission of the founder, Hans Wilsdorf, to make watches featuring traditional Swiss quality at the best possible price.» The new facility, which was completed in 2021 after three years of work, extends over four floors with a surface area of more than 5,500 square meters and is connected to the Kenissi factory, the industrial unit founded in 2016 for the production of Tudor movements, thanks to which, in addition to the network of companies controlled by Tudor, the brand has been able to integrate the development and production of high-performance mechanical calibers. The watchmaking company therefore has full control over the production of strategic components and is able to guarantee their quality. On the subject of the relationship between product and design, Ander Ugarte adds: «The Black Bay with a burgundy bezel is probably the most recognized and recognizable Tudor watch today. It is a flagship model, initially launched in 2012, which earned the “Revival Award” as the best vintage-inspired watch at the GPHG in 2013. This is a typical case where “nothing changes, but everything changes”.»
